Could you list the music that stimulates your mind? For instance, does listing to Bach fugues's enhance certain tasks like math? How about AC/DC? Or Jazz? What do the different types of music do as far as personally stimulating YOUR brain? Or is it more of a distraction? Is there a web site that discusses the affects of music/sound on brain activity?

Mozart music is well known for the "Mozart Effect". The specific rhythm and pace of Mozart's music has been proven very effective in improving memory retention and concentration

Similarly, binaural sound programs like the Brainwave Generator (BWGen) can generate tones designed to specifically affect certain aspects of the brain when listened to through normal earphones

i remember in High School we had some teachers put on NPR (all the classical music) and this one teacher seemed like he had the same CD playing enya - a day without rain witch was OK i guess because we got used to it and in art class in middle school every day a different student got to pick the radio stations so we had rap and pop and classical and junk, i guess that's good for our brains when we try to express our selves
