No he absolutely did not die. Think about it people. Given the amazing following that Jack Sparrow and POTC have, can you imagine what would happen if they killed off Jack? I would personnally lead the villagers up to the gates with axes and torches to tear down the studio!!
At the end of the first movie the monkey removed a coin from the chest and became an undead monkey again. Given that little bit of trivia and the re-appearance of a certain character at the end of the second movie...... If you have seen POTC2 I think you can follow my line of thought, and if you haven't seen it ... well, I hope you are inspired to go see it!

The whole plot of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At worlds End" revolves around Will and Elizabeth trying to rescue Jack. the principle photography is done, and the project is in post-production.
but i wont tell you what happens in #2. SO WATCH IT!

Yes, I saw it 4 times. They ended it with Jack leaping into the jaws of a giant monster, making his death likely.

It was good and they make it just tricky enough so you HAVE to see the third and final installment...

yes but there is gonna be another one so he will problably be back.....maybe like in lord of the rings when gandalf "died"...in like the third one we found out he really didn't
