I think the Titantic is at a lower level.. unlikely my friend, unless there is some underwater submersible that can go that deep, but the water pressure alone would make it difficult to even locate. If anyone can get that low, your hard drive is the least of their concerns, they're after some sunken treasure. Sleep easy on this one! Sheesh, what boat were you on to be out in the ocean that deep?,, Your insurmountable efforts to conceal data were likely worth it,, at least in criminal terms. hehe

No, some fragments may be saved despite the charge conditions of being underwater, but the equipment involved in recovering portions of a hard drive with that extent of damage would make it very costly not to mention the time consumption. I'm sorry about this unfortunate situation.

I do not thing it is possible . You can dry the hard disc and then try. Losing data on a hard drive is the worst nightmare of any computer owner. However, some hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

I believe that hard drives are hermetically sealed, so I do not see how any contamination can get in. but if water did, it can be repaired, but with great expense.
