When the fish swims past the straw,quickly suck on it so the fish gets stuck on the straw...preferably mouth first...Do they call it mouth?....
Then reward the fish with some food and a pat on the fins....

It is possible with proper love and encouragement. You need to reward when they come near the twisty straw. Do not make any sudden arm movement or reaction. Just give the treat and blow some bubbles into the water. You'll have them drinking from a beer bong before you know it.

i'm pretty sure it's not possible with a small fish, because those bendables require quite a bit more suction power. even i find them quite formidable at times.
for a larger fish, i'd say use the same techinque you'd use to get them to jump thru the flaming hoop.

If you seriously try to do this any air or water trapped in the straw can reach your fish's stomach, resulting in a nasty case of swim-bladder, hence I'd strongly advise against doing it.
Although it is nice to think animals CAN do things like this, its not always practical for them to actually do so...
I'd advise that you let your animal be, to enjoy his time doing what he/she wants to.

put some food on the end to train them
once trained you will not need to put the food on the end of the straw

let me know if you find out, I think it is the bend that confuses them. I am having the same problem teaching mine to snorkel.
