I have never had a period this long. They were always irregular, though they always lasted for about 5 to 7 days. Never this long or heavy. It was literally pouring out of me when I was using the restroom yesterday. I don't understand it, I thought this form of birth control was to help and not make it worse. I desperatly want to know if this is normal or if I should stop taking them.

Don't stop taking them just yet... it will just make your hormones more confused. (Bleeding will occur when you stop the pill as well... it's your body's response to the withdrawl of horomones.)

I had this happen with the first brand of pill I was prescribed. Not non-stop bleeding, but bleeding every other week. All I had to do was call the doctor's office and explain what was going on, and she called in a prescription for a different brand over the phone. I didn't have to make an appointment or anything.

Different people react differently to hormonal birth control... that's why there's so many different brands on the market. I'd just call whoever prescribed you the pill, explain your symptoms, and see if they'll switch you over to a different one.

The same thing happened to me. Because my body needed the Ortho Cyclen rather than the tri cyclen. The amount of hormones contained in the pills are different. Ask your Doc to switch you to plain old Ortho-Cyclen.. I think it will work

Best thing to do would be to call your doctor. Just ask him/her if you should continue or try a different pill. Most likely it is just not the right strength for you.

Contact your doctor immediately. Read the prescription advice that came with it.
