Sometimes, but not always. Most phone companies have multiple networks in place, and phones to use specific networks. I had access to a newer Cingular phone than the one that I had, but it was not compatible with my phone and contract for service because it used a different network technology.
However, if it's the same technology as yours, then yes you could call Verizon and have them switch your service from the old device to the new one.

As long as you have a Verizon number/account. Just call the number, they ask for the serial number and info off the back, under the battery. They activated it and get you to turn it on. This should work and has been the way I have had to activate my phones in the past.

Depends on the phone. Verizon and Cingular use different technology, so if you now have a Cingular account you cannot use a Verizon phone on it.

Probably not...........They would have to be compatible somehow, like in brand names or the same carrier......check with verizon first by calling the company......just to be sure......

knowing verizon... I would have to say yes...
And they'll charge you an effing arm and a leg to make it happen... and they'll make you sign another two year contract... and they'll give you crap if you complain...
