There are many ways but I have done it before in this manner which I found to be fast and reliable: connect both PC's with a crossover cable (Cat5) and activate the Direct Connection then all you have to do is copy and paste from one to the other. Worked well for me. Of course other ways are mentionned above (CD's, Disks) but you might also want to use a zip drive if you have the money or even cheaper a jump drive (provided you have an OS that recognizes jump drives).

The easiest and fastest way I know of is to take an image of the hard drive on your old computer and copy it to the hard drive of your new computer. You can try Acronis' True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/) or Norton's Ghost (http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/products/overview.jsp?pcid=br&pvid=ghost10).
Unfortunately, both cost money. Before buying anything, read PC World Magazine's article on hard drive images.

Put it on a web service (like Yahoo) then you don't have to worry about it.
