I think that is just a wonderful question. You must be an awesome person for asking such a question. Nice hair style, by the way. Are those you anal beads? I love those things, can I borrow them? Oops, excuse me, I just farted. Are you free tomorrow? I needs someone to give me a pedicure. I'll give you one too, if you like. Oh, I need $50.00, pay you back next paycheck. I saw you in Walmart, and at the gas station (followed you there, lol). You were wearing your cute little miniskirt thingy. It would make anyone else look like a slut but you look great in it. What's your name again? No, your middle name, I knew your first name stupid. Oh, almost forgot, happy birthday next week! I sent you a card. Well, until we meet again, bye! Oops, farted again.

Getting to familiar with a stranger, it can be dangerous these days. A bit of reserved behavior goes a long way. Some people are overly friendly when you meet them and you can see it in their eyes that they fake it big time, I would not like to be friends with such a person.

There are not very many people in this world that I would consider being over-friendly. Most people are just the opposite. I would rather be showered with kindness and friendliness than having someone be constantly rude and annoying.

Mark Foley and his "over friendly" emails, for example?
Acting with a level of closeness/intimacy which is not justified by length or depth of social hstory with the other person

Yes. I would think that someone is being overfriednly because they usually aren't the same way. Also, if they act EXTRA nice, like carrying my 2 laundry bags up to the third floor when they rarely ever do it. LOL.

definitely, they see you in a store or somewhere and you both say hi to each other and next thing you know 30 minutes later and they are still going on and on about stuff you don't care about and you can't seem to get away.

over-friendly definitely exists
i'd say if they're bothering you, they're probably being overfriendly - thats the criteria
your best hope in this situation (assuming you are the one who's bothered) is to diliberately make an irritible or impatient facial expression to communicate that you're not welcome to this behavior

When you feel that they themselves are trying to get into your personal business or when you feel like they are invading your privacy
