(1) x/12=9 By cross-multiplication,we get x=12*9=108 (2) x/12=9 By multiplying both sides by 12,we get 12*(x/12)=12*9 or x=108 (3) x/12 =9 by dividing both sides by 9,we get x/(12*9)=9/9 or, x/108 =1 =>x=108
