You really do not need a recipe. Normal black tea will stain fabric. My friend made a quilt for her son and took it outside and hung it on a clothes line. She put tea in a squirt gun and had he have fun while staining the quilt. A really bonding experience for them. She said it was fun and very memorable.

Tea is excellent for making paper look old and ancient. :) First, use hot water and add some brown or black tea. I used instant tea (the powdery kind) but I'm sure a tea bag would work as well. Then, you can do either of two options. You can: Take a baking pan slightly larger than the paper itself and let it soak for about 10 seconds. If you keep it too long it'll make it too soggy. The way I did it was to use a brush or some cotton balls and gently color it over the paper. Use a paper towel or napkin to dry off the excess tea. Use a blow dryer to dry it off and then let it dry in the sun. If you want it to be wrinkled, then just crumple it up a but when the paper's crisp and maybe cut a few holes into it. Have fun!

Yes, as other people have answered, but take small sample pieces of the material and try different strengths of tea or coffee to get the colour you like. I used the tea method for mini lace tablecloths for a video play and they actually turned quite dark. So be careful it is not too strong as .....it will stain!

You can make extra strengh tea in your coffee maker. Soak fabric with tea in a large pan. Strong coffee will also work.
