Be careful with this... for distance the Cheetah is indeed the fastest land animal. BUT in the first 40 feet the alligator is actually faster than the cheetah.
If we are talking about fastest animal period then the answer is the Peregrine Falcon (100-200 mph).
The Cheetah (70 mph).

Land = Cheetah
Water = Swordfish
Air = Peregrine Falcon
My favorite is the Humming Bird, their wings beat approx. 150
times per second.
