A lot of times animals eat their own poops because their food is lacking certain minerals. It's relatively normal. I'd switch food brands. Maybe a brand that is a little more expensive or higher quality. The food they get right now might not be cheap or crappy, but it is probably lacking the right vitamins and minerals. There are also rodent suppliments at large pet stores that may help if a new food brand doesn't work. Good Luck to Clover.

hmmm, I had a hamster. Besides the normal hamster pellets, add wild birdseed to Clover's diet, she could be craving something. To make cage clean-up easier, put a premie or nowborn diaper in the bottom of her slide-out tray for pee disposal. Just make sure that she can't chew, because what's in the diaper "explodes" when wet. That's what keeps the infant dry, but explodes in a tummy. Maybe clover is cleaning? Maybe just 1/2 a diaper.

Yes it is normal, I have a guinea pig rescue, they all do it, well almost all of them , we have about 250 so odd piggies and about 50 hamster gerbils and mice, and most of them do it, it is not bad it is just part of their nature,

It is VERY normal for a hamster to eat her own poop. ( mine does it all the time! ) don't be afraid if she eats her own poop.
