I don't know if you can get a publisher before you finidh your manuscript, but have you heard about National Novel Writing Month? Go to www.nanowrimo.org and join the compition. See if you can write 50,000 words in a month.

It might actually cause you stress. When you get an idea, jot it down and try writing bits of it at a time. I can spend 20 minutes sitting in a chair thinking of some story idea. Doesn't usually work. So when I get some burst of an idea, I usually write a few sentences down. So when I'm bored or whatever, I have this idea to write about.

It is so hard to start writing and to finish. If you get a publisher before you finish and you dont finish then it sis just a waste of time. Its your choice.

maybe, maybe not...but keep in mind that when you do the 'motivation factor' might not be there...and then they'll just end up being a bit of a nag...but whatever seems best to ya...goodluck
