I have plenty of CNN's, but no fox. Why is that?
(if they admit they were wrong, I do get rid of the biasness, like the Foley thing though)

Doesn't Fox have someone from both sides of the table arguing? Heck sometimes from even more than just two sides

You ask about the balance of views on offer. They deliberately have less articulate, less persuasive, and more obscure Democrats on, while inviting the GOP's big hitters. It's so the Democrats are always outmatched. When they do have big-name Democrats, you can be sure that they're asked harder questions than a Republican would be. They also blur the lines between opinion and presenting fact by having people like Bill O'Reilly give his very strident opinions (to which he's entitled, but he shouldn't be so ill-mannered) and AND reading news.

Despite the fact that no WMDs were found in Iraq, and no links between Saddam (who was very secular) and al Quaeda (which was ultrareligious), a poll showed Fox viewers were most likely to think there were WMDs and Saddam-bin Laden links. As a news agency with a duty to inform, this means they are failing. As a propaganda machine, it means they are succeeding.

Really, liberals would not complain if Fox would just drop the pretence at fairness and come clean that they are the GOP News Channel. As it is, they do not do what is says on the label.

Well they say you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. This is in no way meant to be a characterization of the questioner or respondents as horses merely a description of the problem at hand. I watch Fox news once in awhile. It literally makes me ill. My stomach hurts and I have to change the channel. I do not believe them to be fair or balanced just from my own 2 eyes. I've seen in the past what happens when people try to present arguments with facts and examples. Basically, no matter what any person who doesn't like fox news will hear is that they are un american, that they support terrorists and want them to win, and that they should love this country or leave. I'm done arguing or presenting facts because quite frankly I'm sick of the insults. It's like children arguing "I'm right you are wrong, nanana boo boo." This is what passes for political debate in America. So CNN is biased. Great. So is every other station. Most of the news is reported as a matter of opinion. Well my good man, I choose to have a different opinion.

Compare Hannity to Colmes.

Sean Hannity is a confident, brazen fighter for conservative causes.

Alan Colmes is a wimp who almost never fights for liberal causes with the same dedication as S.H. does.

Compare the liberals and conservatives who appear in the "panel" during the last few segments of Special Report with Brit Hume. Once again, the conservatives -- like Fred Barnes -- are confident and fight agressively. The liberals are, again, wimps.

Speaking of Barnes, how about The Beltway Boys? Who is more agressive in fighting for his side? Barnes or Kondrake?

google O'Reilly sucks.com
you don't have to go far to find it, examples are everywhere. He's a hired gun for Murdock and West Was Won.

I suppose you think Ann Coulter is a sweet babe.

Did you see him interview the President a couple years ago, even Bush had to back away from O'Reilly's crap. O'Reilly wouln't last 1 hour in regular TV, that's why he's on Fox....read a newspaper once in a while.

Several years ago I was watching Fox and they showed a 20 second clip out of context of a speech that a Democrat was making and then Fox says "to be fair and balanced, we have so and so here in the studio to comment on the speech". Then they gave that right wing goon 20 minutes to slam the Democrat.

A 20 second clip out of context vs. 20 minutes of beating up a strawman argument. Now does that sound fair or balanced to you?

I stopped watching Fox a long time ago, it was too Right biased for me. I can't give you examples right now simply because I do not watch it....I do know that studies have shown that people who watch Fox news were more likely to believe that Iraq was involved in 9-11 then those that listened to NPR and BBC, but I forget the names of the studies. Sorry I can't answer your question with specifics. I would love to hear what you have found out on the other side though. You can email me or just tack it on to your question. Thanks

When your beliefs are so far to the left, EVERYTHING to the right of your beliefs seems unfair and 'right-wing'. Just like when CNN shows snipers killing US soldiers, that is to the left of my beliefs which is one of the many reasons I consider CNN slanted left. So far no examples, only text from people that don't watch or listen to Fox.

Apart from Alan Colmes, is there a balance? I mean he's up against more than a few BushCo cheerleaders. How can a network broadcast a guy like Hannity, for example, who tells Democrats not to vote?? Is that not biased??

The Dumbocraps thing that Fox is biased because Fox doesn't give them a break on every issue the way the other leftie news organizations do.

Wouldn't minimalising commentary reduce bias on all sides? Opinion is not news.
