What you see on the news, while not everything, is a good indication of the direction the country is going. The news, while always partially depressing, has become terrible. All I hear about are murders, abuse, assault, theft, lying, and corruption. And that's just here at home.

Then there's Iraq, but I don't need to talk about that. Most people know the direction Iraq is going.

Our nations political, religious, and corporate leaders can't always be trusted anymore. What does that way for our world, when politicians, reverends, and CEO's are all on the same (low) level?

This country is NOT heading in the right direction, and it's concerning, disheartening, and sad to see it turn from a glorious country to what it is today. This country still has time to turn back, before... (I honestly don't know what to put here. I'm not sure what will happen to America if she continues down this road.)

No, just like the answer earlier about the dems winning, it is heading in the wrong direction. The dems want a bigger government and want the government to help the people. This country was found on capitalism, not socialism like the dems want. Socialism is used many places in Europe and we wanted something different. We need to be self reliant, just like capitalism was set up. People who help themselves, help the general population in the long run.

You can compare it to this analogy. Have you heard the saying you can give a man a fish and he will eat for a day or you can teach a man to fish and he will eat for a life time. The dems want to give fish to everyone where the republican want to teach people how to fish. When we support a majority of the people, it puts a big strain on the economy and everyone else.

This is the direction we are headed. We need to go back where people are self reliant. Why could people come over here when America started (they didn't speak English), but they learned English opened a store by themselves and made money? Why could they do it then, but all of a sudden we can not do it now. What has changed. The system or they way people are treated and expect help?

It is more in-depth than that, but that is just an overview.

No sorry to say not, a whole bunch of disappointments in the last 6 years that can not really be blamed on the Administration at hand, but bad decisions can, we should have never embarked on taking a country already unstable as Iraq, should have held out to find the right answers, so now we are against the ropes and wondering what to do, well the economy is going to take a landslide the first of next year because elections are looming and we will have record lay offs again to adjust that's my opinion.

Absolutely yes, you have take inconsideration the USA has came a long way in the shortest amount of time and the reason for that is our government strategy, its large and work together for the same reasons, causing it to be successful.(take a look around other countries)
Now, if you are asking this question, because of the war and international issues, we are exactly where we should be, but we can use a much better strategy.
I don't have a problem with any human kind , color or race nor religion but i do have a problem with something claiming to be God and demanding world and human destruction, AND PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW OR BELIEVE IN IT, if these people claim that their God wants peace. prove it to us by clearing and cleaning up alot of words in the Koran.
whats most important is most important and needs to be dealt with first. (hide any problems under the rug dose not help, problem is still there, we all have to face them eventually).

If you mean the direction of promoting peace and democracy in a world that is growing increasingly dangerous, with the proliferation of nuclear weapon technology into the hands of unscrupulous dictators and possibly terrorists - then yes, this country is headed in the right direction.

Once I put aside the Iraq war, our declining world ranking in education and health care, the political and social polarization in our society, the National deficit, the escalating costs of higher education, our disregard for the Geneva Convention, and the lowered opinion the free world now has of us, everything is just fine.
