theres not nesicarilly anything wrong with violent dreams, i have dreams in which i fight criminals to ect... to the death (and win i may add) and those dreams comfort me because at least in my dreams i can make the world a better place, but if you want more peaceful dreams i suggest that you find out WHY youre having violent dreams and confront those issues through peacefull means. i do not beleive in psycology one bit, however events in your life can have a direct effect upon your dreams.

Are you repressing anger during the day in your business or social life? Would you like to be violent, that is, do you admire violent behavior? No simple answer, because there is so much more that you wouldn't want to put on this site. Think about your day before you go to bed. Make up your mind to fix problems tomorrow. Suggest to yourself that you are OK, and use something to relax, from a bath to music or a good book. In other words, prepare for peaceful sleep. Best!

If you want your life to be more peaceful, then decisively resist all that that is violent around you. You are seen and heard constantly by He Who Created you and a huge company of His powerful angels,...and your thoughts can join their thoughts toward the constructive, the high, the beautiful, those that help others...........or your thoughts can be led where you don't really want to go. You have a Will, and you can add top its strength. Every thought you think leads you either...... up...into strenghth.......or down. Use your will. Using it strenghens it.
To have your dreams become more peaceful meditate on this: If you would become calm and tranquil, and peaceful make your diet contain greens, vegetables, fruits etc. and consider the sheep and the deer and the cow, the elephant. But if you would become savage like the lion and the tiger make your diet flesh like theirs. Just think and observe for a time.......................

okay you said you have violent dreams maybe the source of your violent dream is an event that you have subconciously suppressed in your memory -something that you maybe saw or heard and hid it in your mind. before going to sleep mentally tell yourself that you are going to have a peaceful rest. i guarantee it will work. dreams are often summaries of what had occurred during the day and you are simply reliving it in your dream remember you dream an average of five times a night and each dream last as long as five minutes ! it may not seem like that but the majority of the time you dream and the other majority of the time you are "unconcious" let your body rest and you will have a better rest sweet dreams

It may help to exercise more often during the week. This will help you sleep harder, and you will have less dreams. If you want your dreams, but just want them to change, then you should try facing your demons. If anything is making you feel guilty, uncomfortable, angry, anxious, or aggravated, it will add to the violence in your dreams. Try and resolve any issues you have, and your dreams will more likely be peaceful. Good luck.

2 things:

1. try sleeping on your stomach (stomach down)
2. try not to eat near bed time, particularly spicy or salty foods

i rarely dream while following this criteria

before you go to sleep try to resolve any thing that is bothering you, or maybe you could tell yourself that tomorrow is going to be a good day. or just work out, or run, do something to get the pent up energy out of you before you go to sleep.
