I think it is a fascinating question because still the biggest item on the agenda will be terrorism.

At the last election I wanted to vote Democratic because Pres. Bush had already confirmed my worst fears about who he was.
But I was concerned if Bush lost it would send the wrong message to terrorists that the US was backing down. Then I realised voting for Bush was letting terrorists influence my vote.

So I tried to vote ignoring that issue.
(pretty pathetic really....reminded me of that great 'poison' scene in the 1987 movie "The Princess Bride")

So I think the worry with Obama is that it would seem to be giving in to terrorism ... by electing someone who might appear on the surface to be a bridge builder to Islam.

But I think that would mean that politically he would have to lean the other way if only to prove he wasn't sympathetic.

My opinion is that Obama might be exactly what the US needs.
A breathe of fresh air. A great wake up call to all of us.
He has Clintons ability without Clinton's liabilities.
