You say on your profile that you are an animal lover and that thousands of animals die from animal abuse. Do you have any idea how many perfectly good animals(even guinea pigs) die in shelters each year because of "back yard breeders"?
Just because we CAN breed our pets does not mean we should.
You should go to a shelter on the day they have to euthanize those pets nobody picked. No matter how long these people have worked in the field, it still gets to most of them and they cry.
To me, backyard breeding, especially by people who have no idea what they are doing, is just another form of abuse.
I don't know how old you are or I would show you a few clips that would rob your sleep for the next two weeks.
So, please, stop the backyard breeding. If you must have more animals in your life, adopt. There are so many animals in shelters everywhere just waiting for a forever home, but nobody ever comes. www.petfinder.com is a good place to find pets in your area.
Think about it!!!

Please do not breed your guinea pigs. Please, please, please. Guinea pigs used to have a life expectancy of 10-12 years in captivity. Most of the guinea pigs that can be purchased from petstores now only live 2-4 years because they are being bred in irresponsible ways and conditions that are worse than puppy mills.

I bred my guinea pigs around 10 years ago and had a relatively decent strain. I introduced a male from a chain petstore and the offspring did not even live to be a year. It was awful.

So unless you are breeding the guinea pigs for food, just don't do it. If you are doing it for money then get decent breeding stock from another breeder and do a proper set up. But at $30-60 per guinea pig there is little profit to be made.

I just answered the other other question you posted so I would just buy another male guinea pig. Guinea pigs at Petsmart cost about $30.00. ($28.00). But if you where to just breed them once. I guess it would be kind of okay, But that's risky business, and not a very wise one either. Good Luck.

Breeding is very stressful on pigs, so consider that. Buy a male buddy for the brother, and cage them together, but in a different cage from the girl. When mating time comes let the bought male, well you know... Replace him in with brother. let mom have her babies, keep a little girl for company to her and sell the rest to responsible people.

I wouldn't breed the sibs- u don't know wut kind of genetic mess ups u can run into (things retardation/mutations). I'd trade, but only if u really really really wan tot breed them. But think about how many animals are homeless - why not just adopt a new baby guinea pig - much less of a mess and a lot cheaper!!!!

Is your typing capital because U accidentally clicked the Caps Lock button on your keyboard; It took me 2 months to figure that one out.
I doubt if you can trade pets because of disease factor. They can breed w/each other. My ques is, how do U neuter or spay a guinea pig! If you can grow fresh grass indoors, they love it; If you run out - They're the biggest pain in the butt to shut-up!
GOINK GOINK GOINK (fresh grass plea)!

If they are brother and sister, I don`t think you should breed them. Their babies can be born with genetics problems and deseases. Maybe you shoud buy another male or female. That is, if you REALLY want to breed them. They cost around $30.00 in a pet shop, but prices may vary.

No, you can't trade. I don't recommend breeding guinea pigs anyway. You might want to do a little more research.

Critters like that do it all the time, chances are if you aren't trying to breed them and they are together, they are doing breeding of there own anyway. I once had gerbals and they reproduced like crazy, and would also eat there babies, so do watch that!
