My dreams have always been in color. I've never heard of dreams being in black and white.

This goes into the contraversial color theory argument.
People have argued for years about the physical existence of color. Photons (light) hit on the surface of an object and the incompatible photons get reflected and reach our eyes. We then convert this signal in our visual system (including eye and brain) into perceived color.
So the color we "see" only exists when it is processed in our brains. One evident is that when we perceive colors, we identify based on their context. For example, we all know that the somewhat yellow-stained teeth of a lady would look whiter when she wears bright red lipstick. The context here is the red around the yellow teeth.
Since dream occurs only inside our heads, it can well be in color (we can perceive the dream with colors); or it could just be in black and white, although the latter is much rare than the first.
I don't think the "color" we see in our dreams are categorize as the same "color" we see with our eyes. The "color" in dreams are more of a feel, more of the feeling that I know what the object is, rather than knowing what the object really look like in details (color, shape, form...)

I have thought in depth on my dreams and colors in my dreams, although i do on occasion dream in just black and white it is rare and although the dreams in black and white do seem to me have a bit of precognition meaning that later on sometimes months after i have deja vu about a conversation i had with someone, the colors in my dreams do seem to me be important and i think the ones that are in black and white do sometimes show more importance then the ones i see in color, although i do like to remember my dreams and try to figure out what they actually mean, i am begining to formulate a theory of dreams and the actually connection between dreams and reality.

Ah, Now.... The idea of dreaming in black and white is an abstract proposition.. Up until the advent of photography, humans had no concept of black and white... It follows that dreaming would be as close to natural experience as the mind could recreate inside itself.... Ergo, people will naturally dream in colour, with perhaps the exception of people with visual anomalies, colour blindness or profound blindness, where perhaps, the concept of colour or black and white may not hold any meaning.... Likewise, those people with mental health issue, or people with an abstract mind, "may" experience dreams in a different way, but on the whole, black and white is an artificial condition, and would in any event, be in the minority...

I remember dreams extremely rarely, but when I have a fever, I dream in black and white and in 2 dimensions. There are black circles and squares on a gray background moving around.
and to think that some people do drugs to induce those sort of visions. I just have to get the flu...

I've never had a black & white dream, as far as I can remember. My dreams are filled with vivid color, as well as sound, smell, taste, and so on. Plus...I can sometimes fly!
