Shah-day.

It's pronounced Sharday. I remember being shocked at the pronunciation (back in the 80's) as I had been given the album (yes we listened to albums back then) as a gift and hadn't heard it pronounced. I thought it was pronounced S- long A - D. or maybe S - short O - D (like the Marquis de Sade). But it is pronounced Sharday. I think the R is not real pronounced. I heard the disc jockeys say it A LOT back when they were playing "Smooth Operator."
