There was this house i saw a program on tv along time ago. It was said that the women that was having it built went mad and told the contracters to build it a different way to conffuse the evil thing that was following her. There were stairs leading to no were and doors that would open to nothing. Are there any idea on the name of this house and the location?

It's Winchester Mystery House. It's In San Jose, Ca.

In 1884, a wealthy widow named Sarah L. Winchester began a construction project of such magnitude that it was to occupy the lives of carpenters and craftsmen until her death thirty-eight years later. The Victorian mansion, designed and built by the Winchester Rifle heiress, is filled with so many unexplained oddities, that it has come to be known as the Winchester Mystery House.

Sarah Winchester built a home that is an architectural marvel. Unlike most homes of its era, this 160-room Victorian mansion had modern heating and sewer systems, gas lights that operated by pressing a button, three working elevators, and 47 fireplaces. From rambling roofs and exquisite hand inlaid parquet floors to the gold and silver chandeliers and Tiffany art glass windows, you will be impressed by the staggering amount of creativity, energy, and expense poured into each and every detail.

Winchester mystery house

Do you mean the house by the woman related to the man who made the Winchester rifle? I think its in California. She was so haunted by the souls of the people killed by the rifles, that she built rooms, on and on, through her life, as a way of escaping them. I think they said she slept in a different room every night. It's supposed to have about 100 rooms, it's been awhile since I watched the show. I've never had the 'thrill' of visiting it,but I heard you can.

Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, CA.

The wife of the inventor of the Winchester Repeating Rifle owned the home. She had all the strange stairways, doors, hallways, and windows added to confuse the spirits/ghosts of the people her husbands guns had killed. This way they would not be able to find her.

I think that's the Winchester house.
Many years ago my Grandparents took me to that house for a tour. It was really neat, lots of weird things built in that house.
Hope this helps.
