set the phone to only use the sim memory
hit the "contacts" then "settings"then "memory in use"
select sim only
you will thank me when you upgrade

Where did you direct your contacts to? The SIM Card or the phone? And when did this happen when you add a contact or anytime during the day?

Take the battery out and replace it again, see if that works. Or switch the phone off and then back on.
