Can anyone give me pointers on my 20 week ultrasound? This is my third pregnancy. I remember the agony of having to drink 40 oz of fluid for the first two ultrasounds. I had to pee so bad that I was in tears the first time. The second time they made me pee because my bladder was too full. I only drank the 40 oz they told me to. I'm excited for the ultrasound but dreading the full bladder. Anyone got any tips to make the process bearable?

My Dr only had me drink 16 oz. of water...40 oz seems like way too much! Drink 16 oz. an hour before and your bladder will be full, but not too full. I had to pee really bad by the time the ultrasound was almost over, and they let me go to the bathroom, because they said I had enough amniotic fluid that I didn't need a full bladder (that was at 18 weeks) so, as long as you have a little bit of water in there you will be fine.

Congrats and good luck! ♥

I had the same problem with my first 2 pregnancys and Im sure I will with this one aswell...not to mention the hour road trip to get to the closest hospital for the scan...
What I did last time was drink a quater less than they told me to...and try not to sit up after you have had it...sitting up can put more pressure on the bladder...
Hope this helps
