i recently filled a sexual harassment complaint and the person just got a write up and was told not to do it anymore ... i was told to just get over it that we all wake up on the wrong side of the bed sometimes and that we all have to work togather that i need to just walk by and be nice. i feel that nothing was accomplished and i feel completely humiliated now and i feel totaly violated what do i do?

it was definatly sexual harassment not only did he try to touch and grop but he also said some pretty awful things as for as towards me and what he wanted. i have several witnesses and now that i made the complaint he gives me dirty looks and talks to people and makes it a point to point fingers at me. i avoid him at all costs but its a small place and i cant totally avoid him

Most likely an attorney will tell you that since they wrote the offender up that the company did satisfy the law. The next thing for you to do is to establish a pattern of offensive behavior and insufficient responses by the company you work for. Keep a journal - include the offense you mentioned - of accurate dates and times of offenses. What was said, or done. Who you reported it to and how the company responded. This will give you fuel to take to lawyer and solidify your case. It sounds like the firm you work for has some type of "good ole boy" network. Only documented facts will establish your credibility. I really hate to hear that you have to deal with such nonsense.

It really depends on WHAT exactly it was you are complaining about. If you are making a big deal about something that most would not regard as "sexual harassment" then there is little you can do. If however this is a serious complaint then you may be able to take some legal action. Keep in mind that sometimes there is little more a COMPANY can do other that reprimand the person if it was a one off incident and there is no ongoing repeat of the behavior..

I would call your states equal employment board or Dept. of Labor you can normally find the info on your staes web site I would also seek a lawyer because not only do you have a case against the person that harassed you, you have a case against your company. Sexual Harassment is not right in the work place and you may not be the only person in your company to be told to "get over it"...as for the person that harassed you I would make it a point to stay away from him/her as much as you can and never be alone with this person. I hope this helps even just a little and good luck

i do not know how severe the actions were, being a supervisor i have seen a lot of frivolous complaints, although you are embarrassed i am sure the other party is to, if the harassment problem has stopped, and no retaliation is taken against you, then whats the problem? did you speak with person first, did he know what he did was offending you? if it doesn't happen again then the problem was resolved, if it is not resolved then go higher up, if that doesn't work contact an attorney

If you are employed in a job that has a union, contact your union. They may have a personal services unit or something similar.
If that does not apply, contact your local chapter of the EEOC.
In the meantime, try to get some legal counsel in your corner, just in case. Sometimes just the mention of a laywer is all it could take to get some change.
Good luck.

Yes you must dossier a criticism, so what if it is a huge shot organization? they are not able to sack you or drive you out when you consider that you dossier a sexual harrassment case in opposition to anyone, get in contact with one more attorney, ideally feminine, does your paintings have a union? it might be valued at speaking to them xxx do you quite wish to be running at a organization like this?

well, if it no longer happens, then that means they did take care of it and they are not liable. if it continues to happen - you must seek the advice of an attorney. If you have a good case, you can get them on a contingency, meaning you do not have to pay any $$ upfront, they will get paid from a lawsuit.

Contact EEOC (federal agency) and Dept. of Labor (federal and state versions). File a complaint with them.
