area = base times height. Therefore height = area/base
in your case, height = 50 in^2/10 in = 5 in.

RE:
How do you find the height of a rectangle when you know the base and area?
A rectangle has an area of 50 sq. in. and a base 10 in. Write and solve an equation to find the height of the rectangle. Would you divide the 50 by 10?

length x width x height = area
So length x width = 10
10 x height = 50
height = 5
You're right!

Side 1 * Side 2 = Area
Side 2 = Area / Side 1 = 50 / 10 = 5 in.
You got it right!

yes, divide the area by the base. Since the base times the height eqauls the area, it will work.

you are correct, but a rectangle has no base just a height and width, or s1 and s2. triangles have a base.
height times width equals area so,
area divide by height =width
and area divided by width = height
answer is 5 inches

You might be a little more careful in phrasing your question.
1) A rectangle has no height...it is two-dimensional...so you meant a rectangular solid, I assume.
2) Presumably it has a volume of 50cu in (not sq in), and a base of 10 sq in (not in).
3) Then, since the volume of such a solid is area of base times height, we get...
V=Ah...50cu in = 10 sq in x h...h=50cu in/10sq in=5in(ans)
