If this is a school assignment-read it! My son had to read it for 10th grade English. I read it to b/c I used to live in Germany and wanted to see what it was all about. It was a great book! Oprah had a show on it and the author too. It is worth the time to read even though you may think you don't really want to.

Eliezer, his father Chlomo, and Moshe the Beadle are the only real main characters.
