fairly simple once you have practiced it,,,,point your kicking foot straight out as you drop,,not throw the football,as you punt,,
you should make contact with slightly more than half of the football,that will cause the spiral,,,,,,,,takes alot of repitions to get it right,,,so practice whenever you can,,,,,,,you will find you may have to tweak the process a little according to how you kick

You give the ball a little twist as you drop it to give it a head start on the spiral. It should come into contact with the foot in a forty-five degree angle to the direction of the foot...like this...See?

Lots and lots and lots of practice.
Kick it kind of on the side of the football facing tip outward and drop it down to your foot. Don't throw the ball down just drop it. and kick it.
You'll have to try it a couple times.
