If the child as been convicted of a crime, only then is he/she a felon. A school board does not have that kind of power nor authority.

A felon is someone who has been convicted of a felony, and only a court has the authority to convict. Felons are not 'declared', certainly not by school boards. A school board may however, prohibit a felon from attending or even entering a school in his or her district.

The only way one gets to be a felon -- is to be convicted of a felony - IN A COURT OF LAW. This is not something that a school board can decree. Even the police department, or the judge cannot decree this. \
Though one cannot be a felon without being convicted -- one CAN be an accused felon. (this is to be accused of a felony)

Only a court of law can convict anyone of a crime (and thus be a felon).
Are they taking action against the child because they have been convicted of a felony? Are you worried about your rights? Hire an attorney or dicuss your concerns with the attorney who represented the child in the criminal action.
Good Luck.

No but they can press charges against a child to have them tried in court.
If the child is a felon they have a right to know and disclose that info in those in the school with a need to know

No, a conviction in a court of law is required. A school board is not a legally constituted court.

boy that must be one rotten kid to get the attention of the school board. I hope like hell the parents are paying attention. But if they are like most worthless parents today they are interviewing lawyers because their sweet little baby was harassed.
