That's not why he was impeached and you're pretty narrow-minded if you think that. Clinton wasn't impeached for oral sex in the oval office. He was impeached for the illegal activities he did trying to cover it up: lying on the stand, telling others to lie, hiding evidence, obstruction of justice. Just like Nixon, it wasn't the act that got him in trouble -- it was the cover up. To do something illegal to hide something that is, while immoral, not illegal is pretty dumb.
Comparing Clinton's impeachment in that way to wanting President Bush to be impeached (for something there's no credible evidence to support) is ridiculous.
Where did the idea come from that Clinton was impeached for his adultery?

If Clinton were a Republican, yes, it STILL would have been a big issue, because you know why? Then it would have been DEMOCRATS fighting for impeachment becaue of perjury and obsturction of justice. Things that are illegal and illegal activities that Clinton admitted to. When you say under oath that you didn't do anything, then admit that you did later on, you just admitted to perjury.

Clinton screwed up. It was in the 20th century. Republicans used it as a weapon to try and defeat him. They succeeded in turning American into the Jerry Springer show which brought shame to all americans. These neo-cons are idiots. To compare a lie about a personal sex affair to lying about reasons to go to war is ludicrous. People died, lots of them in Iraq because Bush lied. That is a far worse offense than Clinton. And how many of these republicans fell when the sex witch hunts began... republican Livingston comes to mind. And then you had republican Strom Thurnmand and his indiscresion with a black woman. So, before you cast your stones... Let he without sin cast the first stone.... now we've got republican Foley running the protection of exploited children for the nation getting caught with minors? Why didn' t the speaker of the house crack down on this guy? Why don't the republicans clean their own closets! I'm no fan of republicans or democrats. I don't trust any of them. I know one thing. And that is whenever we let one party run the show this is what happens. Best to spread the power out. Give the dems congress and return order to the nation.

Regardless of whether or not there was legal merit to the case against Clinton, the decision to move forward with it was absolutely political. Henry Hyde has indicated that it was at least in part in retaliation for the impeachment of Nixon. That's not hard to believe considering that I was seeing impeach Clinton bumper stickers in 1993! Monica Lewinsky didn't start working at the white house until 1995.

Yes, Clinton lied during the questioning but why was there an interrogation in the first place? Being unfaithful to your wife is not a crime and Republicans still talk about lewinsky so they make it seem as if was about infedelity.

As someone who presently considers myself to be liberal I think that Clinton disgraced himself, and the office of President by having an affair in the Oval Office, and then lying about it.
The man lied to his own wife. That isn't a good trait in a leader in my humble opinion.

Well it probably came from the fact that most americans are stupid and really believe that. However if the republicans hadnt been so hell bent on destroying him it never would have happened. There never should have been any question about his sex life. His sex life did not affect his presidential decisions, unlike the witch hunt imposed upon him by the republican controlled house and senate.

If Clinton were a Republican, we hear nothing about Monica Lewinsky and there is no impeachment. It was all partisan.
