ive got an annoying classmate and he cant play his instrument well, he critisizes me and tries to embarass me (notice tries, ppl laugh but it really doesnt bother me much). any ways to help cope with it? any songs or something? hes pretty much a snob and a prep. have any of you dealt with people like that? people who think disrupting class is funny? or insulting classmates is funny? any personal experiences?

he doesnt really care about his playing he just critisizes me and sometimes my friend. he does it partially for entertainment and laughter.

well talking to the teacher doesnt help because she kind of has a problem with him too ;). for the past couple years. she kind of ignores him and continues with class but i cant exactly do that if he says "you suck" when sitting really close to me and insulting me.

People do that to make them feel better bout themselves. He's prolly insecure with the way he plays. So it takes the tension off himself. Or hes just a rude kid. That happens alot. Just ignore him and don't give him the satisfaction. Because all he wants is attention.

Boy oh boy i know what you mean. I try to find some way to remain indifferent since theses hateful people are in a lot of pain of their own. I think that the most humiliating thing that you could do back would be to mock him, especially his laugh. However, then you would be stooping to his level. Speak to your instructor about it. Sometimes they can say something to help. I'm not religious, but reading the psalms always helps, because there are people from thousands of years ago who had to deal with the same kind of crap as we do today. Its ancient wisdom.

ignore him, he's being immature and a pain. also try talking to a teacher and let her know he's distracting you.
