A $30,000 bike is usually a rider. The ones you see at the shows are usually not.If you take a closer look at the ground clearance they would be just about impossible to ride. They are mostly for show. What a waste

30k is just about what most all high end Harleys cost these days.
All the OCC and West Coast Customs are around 75-100 K
They only get ridden on weekends about 40 miles or so. They are not fun to ride for 5-6 hrs on a road trip.

The people that have those expensive bikes have more money than brains. They are an ego trip. Occasionally I will see one at bike night and the owner is some guy that craves attention and is trying to overcome some kind of SHORTcoming that he has.

Dude 30'000 ain't much you can spend nearly that on a new Harley. Or a new Bigdog will cost you that and more. There are a lot of customs on the road these days. If you see a bike with a really fat rear tire a 200 or so....It is a $30'000 bike

I have seen people ride these custom machines around Dallas often. I have an engineer friend who used to work at American Ironhorse Motorcycles.

Some of them actually do get ridden from time to time... but the majority of them are found in their natural habitat -- on a trailer.
Such a sad existance for the butt-jewelry that they are.
