For one thing everyone should know that a YZ-450 is a strung-out four stroke, however with your bike in an up right position unscrew your dip stick and wipe off, then push back in but don't screw in, then pull out and make sure it reads at the right level. For a location of the dip stick check manual or a dealer.

I forget, is the oil level sight glass on the L side of the motor below the countershaft sprocket? If it is, hold the bike upright (as if you were sitting on it). The oil should cover 3/4 of the window. or to the top line if it has one.

YZ450F doesn't have a dip stick

the dip stick is located in the front down tube on the frame . The frame is used as a oil tank. Look for the dip stick on the frame near the steering neck. check with bike level

If it is a 2 stroke - it doesn't have engine oil - only transmission.
