I was induced at 39 weeks because my son was IUGR (inner unterine growth restricted). I was induced on the 23rd around 10am and did not have my son till the 25 at 12:57 am. So I was in labor for two days. Though this may sound terrible it was not. My contractions were not horrible. When they got unbearable I got an epidural. My water then broke and I had a baby 30 minutes later. Not bad at all.

Aww being induced something I will never want again. I was induced and stayed in labor 15 hrs until the finally gave me a c-section after not progressing from 3 cm after 10 hrs. She broke my water after 2 hrs and I had contractions every 2 minutes and nothing helped me. Good Luck maybe since your passed due it should move pretty quickly.

yes i was induced at 42 weeks. and it all went so quickly i was in labour for 7 hours total. what they done was break my waters then after about 20 minutes they gave me a drip to start the contractions.
my contractions started at about 3 minutes apart.
i have heard that babies are at risk of being stressed out but that can happen in any sort of delivery.
my son was fine he was not stressed a bit. my labour got a 9.9 out of 10
i had an epidural because the contractions were too much for me. ( but then again i dont like any sort of pain)
i also had a 2nd degree perineal tear and needed stitches. so if u need stitches my advice when u pee is lean forward as much as u can so it doesnt sting.
dont worry sweety u will be fine. good luck sweety.
i am almost 37 weeks pregnant i cannot wait.

I was induced with all 4 of mine. Mine was good I went in the hospital at 5:00am they started the meds at 6:00am and they let you labor and keep a eye on your contracts to see how there coming. When you are about 3-4 cem they might break your water to speed things along and thats not bad at all you just relax and they take this salad looking stick and break your bag and trust me you have so many things going on your not going to know what is happening.... Depending on how long it takes you can have a baby in mintues or hours... My doctors did induce when mine passed the stress test so I would say yes.. Good Luck

I was induced with both my daughters. With my oldest, I drank castor oil and went into labor. It was slow to progress and they gave me pitocin. It still didn't go very fast or strong.... compared to my second. My doctor induced me to fit me into his very busy schedule. I was induced at 7am and before I could even get my epidural, I was flying through some majorly painful contractions. I was in sooo much more pain than I thought possible. I was always told that the second and subsequent were so easy. I am pretty sure that my Dr. wants to induce me on Thursday and I am more afraid of the pain than ever. Good luck!

I was induced with my son 3 years ago. It was great! I was admitted & had pitocin started at 8a. Got my epidural @ 11a, doc broke my water @ 12:30ish & he was born before 2p. I had a spontaneous birth with my first (at 42 weeks) and this was way better. I would prefer to be induced again if I had the choice. Good Luck!

I was induced with pitocin and it wasn't even close to as bad as how other moms have explained it. The contractions are harder but labor is over faster.
I don't see why they would not induce if the baby passed.
Good Luck!!!

i have been induced 3 times. and it was difrent each time. first time water broke but no labor so i have pitocin thru i.v. second time my ob/gyn was a friend of mine and it was my due date and i was ready so i asked him to and he did-this time they started with pills trying to induce and then went to pitocin in i.v.
it doesnt make labor worse or any of those other "tales" you hear.
my first induction i had natural - no drugs at all- childbirth.
yes they will induce-especially if you are past due..being over due can cause fetal stress.
try not to worry - your dr. wouldnt do anything to harm you or the baby.

More than 50% of all pregnant women are induced.

No biggie. Not all that different from going into labor naturally.
