I just remember being in high school--we didn't have the internet or email then, or cell phones either. I can't imagine ever getting homework or studying done if we'd had IM, email & cell phones...tho it would've been way easier to chat w/ friends.

We had technology--regular phones, computers for writing papers, word processors--technology in general like cars, lighting, TV etc...

Can't imagine growing up w/o hospitals, grocery stores, TV, advil...

I must experience it for about 4 months every year, because I work on a ship that has Web access when we're sitting in port but has nothing when we go out to sea. In fact, I'm sitting in my office here on the ship as I type this answer.
When we're out at sea I'm working 12 hours per day, 7 days per week. There's not much time for recreation. But we have a gym, and I always bring plenty of books from home.

We would all be bored out of our skull.

At first.

Then we would all rediscover the pleasures of reading and telling stories around a fire, families would become closer, communities would become closer.

Technology is both the greatest boon and the greatest curse ever inflicted on mankind.
