Hello,

I am doing a piece on Microsoft Word. I am trying to do the spell-check, but this is what it says: Word cannot locate the Spell Checker, and Word cannot locate the Grammar Checker!!!

What can I do!? Please only give me tips if you have experience, or have knowledge about this problem!

You'll need to run the setup of Microsoft Office once again and install the PROOFING TOOLS.
When the setup starts, select ADVANCED / CUSTOM option when prompted.
On the "Select Feature Installation States" page, ensure that all Proofing Tools are selected. To do that, left click "Proofing Tools" and select second option i.e. "Run all from my computer".
[Selecting all proofing tools is recommended but not compulsary. You may select "Spell Checker" and leave others unselected]

Click Next and proceed with the installation.
(I don't think you need to restart Windows after this setup)

STEP WISE:

1. Insert the Microsoft Office installation disk into your computer.
2. Select the "Add or Remove Features" option and click "Next".
3. Expand the "Office Tools" list by clicking on the plus sign next to "Office Tools".
4. Scroll down and find the proofing tools.
5. Click on the hard drive icon with the down arrow and select the "Run all from My Computer" option for the language(s) you want installed on your computer. The window should now appear as below. Notice that the small numeral "1" has been removed from the languages and the backgrounds of the hard drives are now white. When this step is complete, select "Update Now".
6. Follow the remaining steps in the Office installation wizard and the installation of Microsoft Office 2000 proofing tools will be complete.

Check if its working by pressing F7 in word.

Come back if it doesn't work. We'll try out sumthing else then.

Hi!
I am sorry that you are having that problem it doesn't sound like that is fun at all. I would bet that somehow part of the components that are installed with Microsoft Word probably got deleted from you hard drive. The only real suggestion that I have for you is to re-install Microsoft word, but before you do this I would suggest backing up all of the files you need. Have a good day and good luck!
