You can see scenic sights in a magazine. You can see art in any art gallery. But the thrill of travel is the opportunity to experience other cultures! Travel to another culture anyways challenges one's values, habits and culture.

So ... it depends on how much of a challenge you want. If you haven't done the Europe trip, take all of next summer off and do it. It's the time of year when people from all over the world see Europe. You'll have the experience of a lifetime ... especially in cities like Paris, Barcelona, Roma, Viena, Stockholm. For scenic beauty, go to Interlaken and Grundewald.

If you want to stay in the USA - see Washington DC, very interesting.

I've been to South Carolina 3x now. Can't say a bad thing about that place. Everyone treated me like royalty, and the weather is always pleasant. I hope to retire there some day.

Check out Myrtle Beach.

DEFINITELY SOUTH AFRICA! CAPE TOWN IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITIES IN THE WORLD. NO WONDER THE LATE PRINCESS DIANA'S BROTHER DECIDED TO LIVE THERE. OUR BEACHES ARE CLEAN, UNINTERRUPTED STRETCHES OF WHITE SAND AND WE HAVE SO MUCH HISTORY AND CULTURE HERE. THEN OF COURSE THERE IS THE RAND/DOLLAR/POUND. THE RAND IS SO WEAK, THAT AMERICANS AND BRITISH PEOPLE CAN VISIT AND GO HOME WITH THE BEST OUR COUNTRY HAS TO OFFER, WINES,CLOTHES, ART ETC ETC. OF COUSE LET US NOT FORGET THE WILDLIFE, THE OPEN BLUE SKIES AND THE WONDERFUL SUNSHINE! AND THE FRIENDLY PEOPLE!!!! JULLE IS WELKOM IN SUID-AFRIKA!
