Im interested in picking up the game now that its a "greatest hit" for 20 bucks.... but i dont want to waste the money if i wont be able to understand any of the videos which probably develop the plot!

me too, i get so freaking annoyed because my hearing isn't good. most video game music, FMVs and voice clips just sound like static to me, which has resulted it me never turning the volume on while playing video games.
i got the game, but haven't bothered opening it yet, but if it's anything like the other DW games, any FMVs it might have aren't too important, as you'll always be able to talk to a person in some town or another to see where you should go to next.

yea, 99% sure that it does, just have to turn it on in the options menu.
