It is a head hunter's job to recruit employees. Usually these are high-paying highly-specified positions that require very specific skills, and draw a very targeted group of potential employees. Many times the candidates are recruited from cities, states or countries far from the business location, and a headhunter knows how to search these candidates out.

A headhunter does just that... hunting for heads to fill positions at companies. He or she is paid a fee for finding just the right candidate. The company benefits because they reserve their own resources to do their regular work rather than spending hours and hours sifting through resumes and applications, not to mention plenty of interviewing. The person who hires the head hunter could possibly pay the fee himself, but normally it's the company that pays it. The headhunter's reputation is of utmost importance; he simply can't take a chance on a bad candidate... he'll lose that company forever if he doesn't come through.

Headhunter is the common name for an Executive Recruiter. They are usually paid (either by fee or contingency) by a company which has a very specific need in terms of education, training and experience. They work for the prospective employer, not the job seeker.

She helps find the best person for the job available by a company, orgainization or individual for a finder's fee. She generally has many options at her disposal and it is a very cut throat business...it is manipulative, dishonest and there is no integrity involved, in other words, what goes around comes around eventually.
