I have a dell laptop computer but my power cord won't work. Where can I find a power cord relatively cheep? Do I have to go through Dell to get it?

You can probably get a generic replacement from your local Radio Shack. Bring your laptop in with you. They can look up the voltage requirements and find a suitable replacement. You can also order from Dell if you want a Dell brand name one. Or look for one on eBay or similar consumer resale sites.

Your local electronics or computer repair company should sell a universal power leed, It may or may not be ok for your laptop but there is no harm in checking it out, aviod going through dell if you can as they will probably charge you alot

It could be your DC jack is broken inside the laptop. This is a common problem that afflicts laptop users with power problems because of the strain put on the fragile solder joints over time. Are you wiggling it right at the DC jack? Cause I know my ac adapter is taking a dump on me from constantly coiling the wires up to throw in my laptop bag.

most likely only Dell sells them but i would check EBay and Overstock.com first. they might be cheaper on there. Just make sure that it is brand new
