Could be several problems, including a hiatal hernia, GERD or something else entirely.

You should see a doctor, especially if you are having any type of acid reflux (heart burn/agita). Left untreated, acid reflux can lead to a condition called Barrett's Esophogus. It's not fun.

If you aren't having reflux, then it's probably not as a big of an issue, but it still shouldn't be ignored.

If you like, you can go to WebMD and use their symptom checker to see what they say.

Good luck!

dang, Alka Szeltzer always did it for me... it maked you burp( pardon me) and you feel instant relief... but then you can also try coffee... it has a diuretic effect... you'll lose the water in 5-15 minutes... that has to make some room... Or, you can also drink some club soda, it almost does the same thing as the Alka Szeltzer/ except the former takes some of the bloating effect and /or the indigestion,/ or gas which is why you might feel bloated.. Take your ALKA S. with you, you'll be allright!

You could be starting to suffer from GERD, which is gastroesophogeal reflux disease, which is characterized by frequent heartburn and stomach discomfort. Consult your doctor to rule out any other problems.

An ulcer is the first thing that came to me. See your doctor. It could be something serious. If all is ok, then you're relieved.
