The regular retail price was about $30 - but people were so crazy about them they were paying upwards of $100 to get their hands on one!

It depended on the store selling them. Some stores had them for $25, some had them for $30. I have 3 & 2 of them were $25. The third one was purchased 2 years after they came out & the price had dropped to $20. I also have the Cabbage Patch Kids pet, a Koosa. It's a peach colored dog that is named Peaches. Yes, unoriginal name. I was 12 when I got it, LOL!!
I still have all 3 CPKs, their original clothes & the Preemie has its original diaper on as well as the plastic pacifier in its mouth. The Koosa has its original clothing & collar. I have all 4 certificates too with the name changes.

The first year they ran about $65, but at Christmas went up to $100. I received one as a gift when I graduated with my master's degree!!!

Plus a 5-hour wait in line, or my girlfriend would have never spoken to me again. :-)
And where are they now? The one my gf found SOOOO precious has spent the last 15 years in a box in the attic. Great.

They were about 19.95 in the store...but you couldn't find one!! If you got lucky, you could manage to buy one from someone, who got it , from someone else, from between $60 to $100, depending on sex, name and outfit.

about $25 the price hasnt gone up much I dont think.
