OK ~ I love this kind of stuff!!

My sis-n-law & I went in together to make some stuff & I got some ideas from a particular website. We/I won a competition at work with the items twice!

We ordered a brain gelatin mold & human heart one. We made a cheese ball with the brain (added ketchup for realistic pink effect), and we made a tomato juice-based punch to look like blood & froze some of it in the heart mold...the heart was floating in the punch.

Also, use red velvet cake to make a face cake by taking a LOT of layers of tin foil & pressing it to your face (or someone else's) and carefully balance it in the oven - we had to cut up a cake pan - then, when done, put it on a platter. Don't ice & it will look like a zombie face. We put crushed oreos all around it for dirt & it looked like the zombie was coming out of the ground. You can get the same effect by using a well detailed mask & duct taping both sides of all of the openings. The foil worked for us & I've done it twice.

I did used red velvet for the heart, too. And, we made a pink-colored gelatin with milk for the brain. If you can't get a brain mold, just cook some macaroni with unflavored gelatin with it, then mold it to a hemisphere shape to look (and feel) like a brain. Add some cheese and that bit of ketchup for coloring, and you would have a mac & cheez brain. Yuck & Yum @ the same time!

Just make everything edible.

See the following website for more great ideas, too!

Good Luck!!

Bug brew: Fill a clear jar with green Gatorade, then put some of those rubber bugs and snakes into the jar.

Bloody Ladyfingers. Get a package of those ladyfinger shortbread cookies and a tube of red icing. Paint one end of cookie with red icing so that it looks like a bloodie severed finger.

Frankenstein jar: make some green or blue jellow. Put it in a clear jar. Paint a frankenstein face on the jar with black felt pen. Hot glue a screw on either side of the jar.

Peeled grapes for eyes, put a black peppercorn in one side.
Mash some liver paste (leberwurst or paté de foiegras), it looks a bit like brains...you can mix with some cottage cheese it will look more real.
