can anyone give me info on who the Khazar's were and are or when they were powerful??

got wind of them in a answer and want to research the info.

The Khazars were steppe nomads who carved themselves an empire around what is now Caucasus and Ukraine around the 7th century. Yes, at the time, they were regarded as fairly powerful.
