Hey. Im putting together some mix CDs for a 6+ hour ride to visit my mom over Thanksgiving. Any suggestions on awesome alternative songs that won't put me to sleep on the way? I love The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Postal Service, Snow Patrol, the Decemberists...

Anything by Tegan and Sara is amazing. I feel bad once again saying, "Tegan and Sara!" because I know people probably get sick of me recommending them, but really..they are so good. And plus, they are girls and all of their songs are written to girls! My favorites: Speak Slow I Was Married Back In Your Head Nineteen Floorplan

Songs that won't put you to sleep...Try System of a Down. That band is one of the loudest and craziest ones I know of.
