Berkelium metal exists in two crystal modifications (see allotropy) and is chemically reactive; the chloride, fluoride, sulfide, nitrate, sulfate, perchlorate, oxide, and dioxide have been produced.

Well, Berkelium is an actinide and a rare earth-element. So, because it is in the middle of this heavy metal series, I would imagine it would be more reactive in redox reactions than in simple acid/base reactions.
