An Algebraic expression is something like...

7b+4a-3c

It is just a statement. Seven b's plus four a's minus three c's.

An Algebraic equation is used to solve something, and has an equal sign.

7b=21

7b/7=b, 21/7 =3

b=3.

You can't solve for the first one, but you can the second. You'll learn more about the uses of Algebraic expressions later. Good luck.
