Yes,
go to start, click all programs, click accessories, click system tools, click system restore. With the system restore, you can set your computer back just a few days (if you think you just got the virus) just a few weeks, or a few years to make you computer like brand new. Remember that everything is lost so save ANYTHING you want to keep like word documents pictures etc. on disks.
This Works GREAT !!! I have done it, but then had to restore programs I like to use such word, adobe, messenger etc. My advice is not to go all the way back to the start so you don't have to restore evreything, just before you got the virus, but remember, everthing you did from that point until now will be gone!
Hope this helps!

To be completely sure I've removed all possibility of a virus, I would fdisk the computer to re-write the boot sector. After that, install the Windows CD and boot up to re-install. Select the format hard drive option. Just note that EVERYTHING will be wiped out. Save your important files on a CD before running fdisk. After installing Windows, install a current anti-virus (AV) software. Only after installing an up-to-date AV software would I load my old saved files back on, and even then, only after I scanned the CD first for viruses.

You can reformat the hard drive. This leaves it "clear" but leaves magnetic traces that can be lifted by computer forensic experts.
Make sure you have a CD with all your OEM (original stuff) on it so you can get started again. Most manufacturers send these out with new machines.
If you have this disc, when you are ready to reformat your hard drive, it will give you instructions as to how to go about this chore.
SImply follow them, it takes 30 minutes or so depending on your system.

You have to have the disk that came with your computer. Windows disk or something like that. Just put the disk and restart the computer. Follow the directions. If you do not have the disk then you would need to take your computer tower to a computer repair place.

just fill the tub with water, and drop it in.
Let it soak for 3-4 hours, then set it out in the sun to dry for a couple days in the summer.

You would probably have to do a system restore. START--PROGRAMS--ACCESSORIES--SYSTEM TOOLS-- SYSTEM RESTORE.
You also need the CD's the computer came with
