a halloween spider...hard to tell..but it looked fake

loved all your pictures esp...grandfather mountain...what a beautiful place..hope you had a great vacation :o)

The spider isn't large enough to tell much about it,
but the web seems to be a fake. Note that the
concentric turns of the web are complete circles
(a little lopsided but nearly circular). In a real orb
web this part of the web is a spiral, continuous or
nearly so, not separate circles.

I can hardly see the spider, but the web suggests one of the "garden spider" group.

it is a black widow
and dangerous
so stay away
