Jesus was raised a carpenter (actually a Stone Smith, no fooling) but when he went preaching at the age of 32, he was essentially homeless. Not quite a transient or a bum as we look at things today, but at any rate he was homeless, by choice. His mission to preach the Good News (gospel) was that urgent.

Only in the sense that he did not own a home. He was able to find places to live...with his disciples and family. But in the most literal sense of the word he was in fact homeless. This begs another question, if he had no home and no job was he a bum, or a hobo?

The Bible isn't clear one way or the other. His basis of ministry was probably Capernaum, or outside Jerusalem. The Bible has him staying with various disciples, including Mary Magdaline, and at the homes of people like Lazarus and Simon the Leper.

He is not described as being homeless, nor is he described as living anywhere or with anyone in particular. He is often depicted, however, as being fairly nomadic. Not homeless and begging, but without a permanant residence and traveling around.

He was trained as a builder of some sort, not necessarily a carpenter, and probably practiced his trade building a Roman city near Nazareth, his childhood home during his youth, I forget the name, but he didn't practice his trade in later years. So yes and no.

At Matthew 8:20 Jesus tells a scribe, who was committing himself to Jesus, that foxes have holes and birds have nests "but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head." So one could assume that he was homeless, however, it was in fact a warning that to follow in his footsteps would not be easy. He warned his disciplines often that they would come against opposition and persecution as well they did.

Well, his "home" was/is supposedly heaven - but this is what he allegedly said:

"Matt 8:18-23

18 Now when Jesus saw a crowd around Him, He gave orders to depart to the other side of the sea.

19 Then a scribe came and said to Him, "Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go."

20 Jesus said to him, "The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head."

That's a great question. He didn't need a home of his own. So in a sense I suppose he could have been homeless. He was welcomed with open arms from those who knew him. He could have stayed somewhere different everynight.

After he left his family home as a youngster, apparently he was 'homeless' unless he stayed awhile studying with the Essens, as some people think.

no. not only does Jesus have a home in the hearts of all his followers, he a home when he was hear on earth. (maybe not a typical home, but a home) Jesus stayed with his earthly mother and father (mary and joseph) when he was a child, and stayed in the homes of his followers later on. he lived with minimal possesions and depended on his followers being generous to him.

thats ridiculous to say JESUS was homeless !!!!! JESUS clearly stated HE was the "great I am"....the GOD of abraham, isaac and jacob". The LIGHT of the world, said if all would not praise HIM the rocks would cry out HIs name. This JESUS who was ressurected from the dead,,,lets not lose sight of this fact,,,,,and after ressurection,,,spent 40 days,,,40 days eating and drinking while in HIS heavenly SPIRIT before HE asended to heaven where HE sits at the right hand of the FATHER and makes intercession for us all. it would be impossible for GOD,,,called by the prophets as "ANCIENT of DAYS",who created the heavens and earth by the simple WORD of HIS mouth to be homeless,,,,it all belongs to HIM,,,,not us. JESUS said before abraham was "HE was",,,,meaning HE was there in pre-incarnate form from the beggining,,,,HE is GOD manifested in flesh.....making JESUS fully man and fully GOD,,,sinless and born of a virgin by an imacculate conception by the SPIRIT of GOD. John wrote in his gospel,,,," in the beginning was the WORD,and the WORD was with GOD,and the WORD was GOD,,,,meaning JESUS as the "word" was there in the formations of the heavens and the earth. HE created the world by HIS "speaking" a word" ,,,in greek,,,"logos"....and GOD said "let there be light",,,and GOD said,,,,and GOD said,,,,etc...all HE needs to do is to use HIS voice and all jumps into place,,,HE has complete dominion over everything,,,,why ???? because HE created it all....it all belongs to GOD,,,,JESUS said "all power and dominion have been given unto ME,,,,if so,,,I know HE has plenty of space...HE also said " I go now and prepare a place for you,,,if it were not so I would not say it....." do you doubt GOD's word ???,,,all you see,,,all you own,,,,HE "permits" you HIs blessing to use it,,,,dont forget to thank HIM for all your blessings....
