8+1+0+3+0+1+6= 19
or
8+10+30+16= 64
or
8 x 10 = 80 - 30 = 50 + 16 = 66 ... 6 + 6 = 12
the choice is yours

Don't put this under mathematics you retard. It's not maths. It's trying to work out what fiendish scheme they have come up with.
I've heard suggestions before that you need to include things like roman numerals. So in sixteen you get 1 for i, 10 for x, and 9 for ix (I don't think any of the other letters are roman numerals...). Then you probably need to add in eight, and ten, and thirty, and eight times ten, and ten minus thirty, and eight times ten minus thirty.....
Good luck mate! You'll bleedin need it!

You can not just work you way along a calculation, you have to obey the rules of maths.
The way this is usually remembered is with the acronym "BODMAS" take each letter in order and perform the operation it stands for working from B to S
B is the removal of brackets first.
O is 'OF'. of must be thought of a 'X' Or times
D is any division in the sum.
M is multiplication next ------ followed by
A that's addition ------- and finally
S for subtraction.
To do this the sum must be written down in a correct mathematical form to start with.
In phone-in quizzes the questions are anything but written correctly. There for all the answers given are correct as the way the questions are written lets you interpret it in many ways. That's what the rules of maths are meant to avoid.

Agreed it definitely sounds like a con phone in quiz....where you have absolutely no chance of getting the right answer as they combine whatever definition they deem fit to mean 'numbers'...
It can mean roman numerals for the letters....eg Five would equal v and vi.....ie 5 and 6 along with probably 5 for the english meaning of the word...etc etc etc.
Phone in shows tell you how much money they pay out but they do so after having paid all the staff, crew, etc etc etc and there is still a huge profit left....paid for by you.....
Be Warned....!

This is a incomplete question. Need to know which base of number you are working with. For example :10, Binary or Hexadecimal. etc
